Smoking good time on Sunday

Hello photography fans,

Did a shoot with the lovely models Bre and Elise over the weekend and want to post an early shot. The shoot started off with a 50s theme and just went all over the place. You know when you are doing a shot with a Pink Ladies jacket and an ice cream Sunday and an hour later you are shooting and artsy black and white with a single light and a lighter you have really come full circle.

Anyways I will stop rambling and post the first pic from the shoot.

Thanks all and have a great week!

It's done and I need a break :)

Well,

I think I am finally recovering from my 8 hour shoot on March 15th. I swear by the end of the shoot I was getting double vision. I don't think my eyes were made to stare through a viewfinder for 6 hours straight :)

Overall I am very happy with the pictures, of which I will be posting early next week. But as a perfectionist I can't help but wishing for more. We had some problems with the weather not co-operating and ended up with overcast skies which didn't do much for the roof shots. Then because of some unforeseen issues the shoot started about 90 minutes late. We also had major issues with the windows turning into mirrors after dark and blowing a couple fuses throughout the night. But hey if you didn't have issues like that you weren't really trying hard enough :)

I was very happy with the talent that showed up. Both models did a great job and came ready to shoot. They were both very professional and enthusiastic and I would recommend them for any shoot and would love to work with them again in the future.

As for the makeup and hair team from Aveda in Denver I can't say thank you enough. I know you were rushed and we had to cut some corners to try to get everything done but, you ladies did a bang up job that will show when everyone sees the pics.

And for the owner of the amazing condo I would like to say thanks again for you generosity and great humor and understanding as we took your beautiful condo and turned it into a photo studio then back again.

I would also like to thank Brian who helped me set everything up, grey card the models, take light readings, and basically help me get the shots we needed.

And last but not least I would like to thank my wonderful wife for supporting me on this shoot and not making me sleep on the couch after seeing the pictures.

Thanks again to everyone!

Well I know everyone is looking forward to the pictures so I will stop rambling and get back to sorting through the 800+ pictures we took. Then on to the post processing :) Thanks again and stay tuned.

Some Pictures from this weekends shoot.

Well had an interesting shoot this weekend. For those of you not in Colorado it is sometimes hard to even explain our weather here. On Saturday, the day before the shoot, we had amazing weather, 72 degrees blue skies and so much sun. But ohhhh what 24 hours can bring in the mountains. Sunday I wake up ready for my shoot and know things are probably not gonna go smooth. It is 25 degrees and snowing hard. that is almost a 50 degree drop in one day . WOW!

When we get to the studio everything started going wrong. I walked over to my assistants car in the blowing snow and step in a 8 inch deep puddle of ice cold water, that woke me up. Upon heading to the studio door braving the blowing snow and cold I find that the studio didn't set code pad properly. So I had to call them up and wait 40 minutes for someone to show up to let us in.

After we got in I thought my bad luck was over but I was mistaken. I couldn't for the life of me get my laptop download and show my images in Adobe Lightroom so I ended up just nixing that. Then the cord I got to go from my pocket wizard to my lights didn't work. Just not a good start to my shoot.

But then I settled down and started shooting and remembered why I love doing this. My model for the day was 16 year old, 6'1, blue eyes Taylor and she is just a pleasure to work with. I have posted some pictures from the shoot. This goes to show you that even if everything is against you just persevere and you will prevail.
